Japan - December 2nd - 25,000 Yen (£112.74)
Europe - December 8th - £179.99 (€249)

Further European Details
- Games will cost between £34 and £39 (€49 - €50). 20 games available at launch.
- In the box you get the console (obviously), a Wiimote, a Nunchuck, a copy of Wii Sports (which accounts for the extra pricing on the console compared to other countries), an AC adaptor, A/V cable, console stand, sensor bar and stand and two AA batteries.
- Extra Wiimotes will cost £29 (€39), nunchucks will cost £14 (€19) and the classic controller will also cost £14.

GC 2006 has record attendance

Well, the Leipzig Games Convention is over, and this year's was a very good one!!!
So good, that the convention recieved record attendances.
This year, 183,000 people turned up at the event, up from 134,000 in 2005. Some other random figures to do with the event are:

17% were female (up 4%)

42% were over 20 (up 6%)

89% said that they achieved they aims for the show (up 3%)

Project Director Angela Schierholz had this to say about the convention:
"The larger displays put together by exhibitors for older visitors and the female target group as well as the expansion of GC family and the new section GC Art have resulted in more visitors from different generations. GC has hence met one of its key aims by showing that interactive entertainment and education are relevant for society as a whole."
