FIFA 07 GC DS GBA 29/9/06 FIFA 07 throws you into the rollercoaster ride of a football season. Employ real world tactics, make realistic decisions, and think like a player in order to win matches. MY VIEW: Another year, another FIFA, another revolutionary new gameplay system. But this time, it’s not so bad. The game feels at it’s best since FIFA 98, and the graphics have updated slightly as they do each year. The games are basically the same as last year’s, apart from the DS’s new feature, which allows users to record their own chants, and hear the crowd sing it. If you want brilliant graphics, the GC version is for you. If you want a portable and unique version, then go for DS. 75% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: From the first whistle of the season to heartbreak of cup failure, FIFA 07 throws you into the rollercoaster ride of a football season, has your team got what it takes to win the league or will they bravely battle relegation - its all up to you. Relish every scintillating victory over bitter rivals and fume through every gut-wrenching poor performance at home. Savour the spine-tingling stadium atmosphere, home and away, as your team battles their way up the league table. Listen as your supporters chant your players’ names and bellow all the rousing club songs through rain and shine. You have the power to shape your club’s destiny in the EA Sports™ Interactive Leagues [F.A. Premier League, Bundesliga, French League, Mexican 1st Division], a new online mode that enables you to pit your club against supporters of your real-world opponents. Play your games according to the real-world schedule. When they play, you play. Track your team’s progress as the aggregate results determine your club’s position in the league table. Now you actually take to the pitch for the glory of your club. New intelligent AI ensures that your 11 men on the pitch make realistic decisions, finding space and passing like professionals. A complete overhaul of the game engine now means that you have to employ real world tactics, make realistic decisions and think like a player in order to win matches. Take on the updated and improved challenge of the Manager Mode. Player values and wages have been tuned to be even more realistic. Managerial decisions have even more tangible effects on player performance and welfare. Smarter CPU decisions mean rival managers are even more strategic in their own pursuit of silverware. Average Rating: 75% 42 All Time Classics DS 29/9/06 A collection of card game and other casual entertainment titles for the DS. Part of the Touch Generation series. Players can challenge up to seven friends with one game card via Multi-Card Play or DS Download Play. Can't play checkers without shouting "KING ME!" across the table? The in-game (PictoChat-like) feature takes table talk to a new level. MY VIEW: Another one of the Touch Generation games that only Nintendo could think of. Rather than having to set up equipment and get a load of stuff out, just get out your Dses, and play games. Or better still, go online and play against the world! With 42 games to play, this will last a long time. 82% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: 42 All-Time Classics brings all the best-loved card, board and parlour games to Nintendo DS for anyone to play; with simple touch screen control and a multiplayer mode that pits your skills against players across the world! With no boards to set up or cards to deal out, you can get straight into the action in seconds and play more than 40 gaming favourites - from draughts to darts, poker to bridge, and backgammon to billiards - with simple touch screen control. You can play solo or challenge up to seven friends by sharing one game card. And if you don't have anyone to play with, simply log on to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and find opponents across Europe or in the US. You can even chat to each other, PictoChat-style, while you play! 70% GAME: N/A Average Rating: 76% Brick’em All DS 29/9/06 Brick'em all! The title explains everything. The aim of the game is to pass through levels destroying every brick with a bouncing ball. You'll have to manage with special bricks and avoid power-downs. The game lets you choose your own path: every time you clear a stage you can choose from two different levels to play. Brick'em All is simple and challenging at the same time, as well as being highly addictive! MY VIEW: Another one of those games which could only ever really work on the DS. Classic puzzler type game with use of the DS. 65% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: N/A Average Rating: 65% RebelStar Tactical Command GBA 29/9/06 The Arelian empire has been in control of Earth for far too long. A new recruit, Jorel, has organized a rebel force that just might be able to crush the Arelian empire in Rebelstar: Tactical Command. Players must use the environment to their advantage in this turn-based strategy game that utilizes destructible terrain and true line of sight in eight directions. Players can also equip their squad with a variety of weapons including grenades, sniper rifles and missile launchers to take down the Arelian empire. MY VIEW: One of the first decent GBA games for a while, even though it took a year to get here from the US. A good graphical style, and look set to be a good game. 67% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: The year is 2117. The evil Arelian Empire has been in control of planet Earth for 70 years. Initially, the Arelians brought peace and prosperity to a world ravaged by war, disease and ecological devastation. Later, they controlled Earth's inhabitants through fear, using their henchmen, the Zorn, to abduct people when they turn 30. Now, a band of rebels rises up to fight against the Arelians. A new recruit, Jorel, quickly advances through the ranks and becomes their leader. He organizes the rebel forces and builds a powerful global army. Soon, he'll challenge the Arelian Empire for control of planet Earth. Average Rating: 67% AND THAT ROUNDS UP A DECENT WEEK
