As I said earlier, there is only one word that can do the show justice.
WOW
And that's all there is to it. The show was absolutely phonomenal. You must watch it to see how great it was. I will be going through the show as best I can, seeing as there was so much stuff on there, I may miss some out and add it in later! The show started with a bang. Miyamoto walked onto the stage, Wii control in hand and began to compose. An animated band in the background reacted to this and played the Legend of Zelda tune. It was an amazing moment. Then Miyamoto and some other bloke started playing on a new Wii game and the action looked amazing. The control gives you so much control, you feel like you're in the game! Reggie Fils Aime then came on stage and spoke about the future, and how Nintendo has pioneered the future and will continue to do so. Next we saw a feature length Wii preview video. It showed some amazing games including Wario Ware Wii, Metroid Prime 3, a new Mario game and Twighlight Princess. There were simply too many games in there to tell you about. But the games I have mentioned were the best of the lot. The games look simply amazing and the people who were controlling them looked like it was very easy! Reggie then began answering the main questions on the Wii. He explained about how the Wii will be different because it changes how you control games, not how you look at them wich is now irrelevent. He also commented how Mario 64 changed gaming; Wii will do the same. He then dropped the biggest bombshell of the show. They were not announcing a date or price for Wii, only that it will be released in Q4 06. This sounds about right and he said it will be cheap. Next he congratulated all the people who were happy with the name Wii when they first heard of it - both of them. Great joke!!! Next we were shown some shots of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. This game looks brilliant, and the controls look even better and natural. This is a must buy. They then showed some other games, which were ok, but not great and then showed Fire Emblem Wii, which looks fantastic. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles also looks very good. After that there were a few strange games and a racing game, and then Super Mario Galaxy. This looks amazing and must be a must buy. The control looks right at home and the graphics are stunning. After a few more games, there was a brief shot of Twighlight Princess. Reggie then came back on and said all about how amazing it is. He then announced an amazing fact. This will be the first Zelda game to be launched on release day. That's right. It's a Wii game. But it will also come out for GC on the same day. There was then a LIVE demo of Twighlight Princess, and that was amazing! The controls are brilliant. Slashing, arrow firing and everything else is controlled from your control. That is brilliant. This game looks brilliant, and will be THE game you need to get on launch day. 100% rating already! There were then some more shots of Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy. They look brilliant too! There were also some brand new franchises from Nintendo like Excite Truck, Project HAMMER and Disaster. These also look interesting games. They then showed some good third party games, including Rayman, Sonic and Final Fantasy. We then had a demo of first person shooter, Red Steel. This looked amazing, and gave us an insight into how Metroid Prime 3 may work. And now we had the DS. After a lot of stat showing and saying how much better it is than the PSP we got to the games. They showed the logos of the new Pokemon game, and announced Yoshi's Island 2, Star Fox and Diddy Kong Racing. Then we saw Final Fantasy 3 for DS, which looks excellent. And then we saw LOZ Phantom Hourglass, but we didn't get to see many new screens but it still looks amazing. It will follow on from Wind Waker. Then the announcement that over 100 new DS game will be released before 2007 was announced, which is quite a big figure. We then saw shots of MArio Basketball, Star Fox DS, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Diddy Kong Racing and more. This year will be a good year for the DS, and we also got to see the DS Lite! Satoru Iwata then came on and talked about Nintendo's future. He talked about WiiConnect24 which means that the Wii will always be on, so it can collect things online and do various other tasks. It will use the power of a small light bulb. Then came the part of the show. The tennis match. Reggie and Iwata versus Miyamoto and one lucky winner from the audience. It was an epic match, one which you should see sometime. The winner was Miyamoto and the man from the audience, but it is well worth seeing. The show was great and Reggie closed it by saying CHANGE IS GOOD. WE WERE THE DIRUPTER 12 YEARS AGO, AND WE ARE NOW! Nintendo is the best company by far, and that show proved it. I hope I covered everything and when the gamers get their hands on the stuff tomorrow, I'll be bringing you their views. If there is anything that I missed, feel free to ask me. Remember, the Wii will change everything!
