Preview Weekly 7/10/06
As the name suggests, Preview Weekly previews each and every game that will be hitting the shelves over the coming week. The feature previews every game from the Sunday to the next Saturday, meaning you know what to buy and what to leave well alone! Each game will receive a brief synopsis of the storyline and then will be previewed/reviewed by a variety of people/companies. At the moment I will be doing a preview along with the new look Nintendo The Official Magazine (taken from the magazine), GAME stores and Nintendo of Europe (rating will be taken from the current opinion section on the NoE game page. This may or may not reflect how good the game is). Over the coming weeks and months, I will add more people and companies who will review the games. But you can help! Brick'em all! The title explains everything. The aim of the game is to pass through levels destroying every brick with a bouncing ball. You'll have to manage with special bricks and avoid power-downs. The game lets you choose your own path: every time you clear a stage you can choose from two different levels to play. Brick'em All is simple and challenging at the same time, as well as being highly addictive!
MY VIEW: Another one of those games which could only ever really work on the DS. Classic puzzler type game with use of the DS. 65%

Disney's American Dragon: Jake Long, Attack Of The Dark Dragon

Based on the animated TV show of the same name, Disney's American Dragon: Jake Long puts you in the shoes of Jake, a boy who happens to be a powerful dragon.
MY VIEW: Yet another game trying to cash in on a TV success. Not really much use from the DS, and with only marginal graphic improvement, the DS version looks like the GBA one. Not that great 43%

Barnyard: The Original Party Animals

Based on Paramount Pictures' and Nickelodeon Movies' theatrical release, this adventure game offers a humorous look at how farm animals really live when humans are not around. Players start as the new cow on the block and work their way though challenges in a fully rendered 3D world to prove they are the biggest party animal of all.
MY VIEW: Another film, another game. Pretty average, with nice graphics, but a used and old style gameplay. Not the greatest attempt ever. 45%

GAME: Welcome to the yard where the vibrant world of Nickelodeon's Barnyard movie will come to life. Gamers of all ages will be entertained by this brand new barnyard adventure. Players will start off as the 'new cow on the block,' form alliances with fellow animals, taking on challenges and sporting competitions, protecting the farm from coyote invaders, and doing lots of goofing off on the side. Players will be able to explore a fully interactive, 3D world and prove that they have what it takes to be the biggest party animal of all.

RebelStar Tactical Command

The Arelian empire has been in control of Earth for far too long. A new recruit, Jorel, has organized a rebel force that just might be able to crush the Arelian empire in Rebelstar: Tactical Command. Players must use the environment to their advantage in this turn-based strategy game that utilizes destructible terrain and true line of sight in eight directions. Players can also equip their squad with a variety of weapons including grenades, sniper rifles and missile launchers to take down the Arelian empire.
MY VIEW: One of the first decent GBA games for a while, even though it took a year to get here from the US. A good graphical style, and look set to be a good game. 67%

GAME: The year is 2117. The evil Arelian Empire has been in control of planet Earth for 70 years. Initially, the Arelians brought peace and prosperity to a world ravaged by war, disease and ecological devastation. Later, they controlled Earth's inhabitants through fear, using their henchmen, the Zorn, to abduct people when they turn 30. Now, a band of rebels rises up to fight against the Arelians. A new recruit, Jorel, quickly advances through the ranks and becomes their leader. He organizes the rebel forces and builds a powerful global army. Soon, he'll challenge the Arelian Empire for control of planet Earth.

Dogz Fashion allows players to adopt their own adorable puppy, dress him/her up in all kinds of fashionable outfits and enter him/her to win fashion competitions.
MY VIEW: Ubisoft’s GBA equivalent of Nintendogs receives an update, which doesn’t really expand much on the original. Only small updates, and no graphical update means this doesn’t really expand much at all. 56%
