Preview Weekly 11/11/06 As the name suggests, Preview Weekly previews each and every game that will be hitting the shelves over the coming week. The feature previews every game from the Sunday to the next Saturday, meaning you know what to buy and what to leave well alone! Each game will receive a brief synopsis of the storyline and then will be previewed/reviewed by a variety of people/companies. At the moment I will be doing a preview along with the new look Nintendo The Official Magazine (taken from the magazine), GAME stores and Nintendo of Europe (rating will be taken from the current opinion section on the NoE game page. This may or may not reflect how good the game is). Over the coming weeks and months, I will add more people and companies who will review the games. But you can help! If you wish to review the games of the week, please leave your username and e-mail address at the bottom of this page and I will contact you with instructions of what to do or you can e-mail me at mailmrnintendo@gmail.com. Not too many good games this week… Bratz: Forever Diamonds (DS) Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from Krusty Krab (DS) Scooby Doo: Who’s Watching Who? (DS) Mega Man ZX (DS) The Sims 2: Pets (GBA) Disney Princess: Royal Adventure (GBA) Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam (GBA)

GAME OF THE WEEK 4/11/06 Last week’s game of the week was Age of Empires for DS!
Bratz: Forever Diamonds 17/11/06 Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade are back for a brand new adventure sending them across the country in search of the hottest fashion designer. Players will experience unique adventures through the eyes of the four playable characters, in detailed open world environments, as they compete for a spot in "America Rocks Fashion" TV show. Fans will discover new features that include a figure skating competition and the ability to adopt a pet to train, dress, accessorize and showcase in competitions. MY VIEW: Well we’ve had the GBA and GC versions, so it’s no surprise that this came out 2 weeks later. Pretty much the same as the other two versions, it’s a basic game which will appeal to young girls. Hardly any useful touch screen use and reasonable graphics. 47% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: N/A Average Rating: 47% Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from Krusty Krab DS 17/11/06 In a unique and creative twist, SpongeBob SquarePants explores the peculiar world of Bikini Bottom as it transforms through a series of various unique visual styles. SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab offers fans brand new gameplay mechanics through nine visually bizarre levels. MY VIEW: As with the other versions, wait for the Wii version if you REALLY want this. Pretty basic gameplay and graphics make this a game which is not worth buying. 49% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: Bikini Bottom will never be the same! SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab brings the #1 kids gaming franchise and TV property into the bizarre and unusual, introducing never-before-seen art styles and brand new gameplay mechanics that will change your perception of Bikini Bottom forever! Average Rating: 49% Scooby Doo: Who’s Watching Who? DS 17/11/06 The gang from Mystery Inc. are the stars of a hit reality TV show about ghost hunting. However, when rival show team GSI (Ghost Scene Investigators) question Mystery Inc’s “unscientific” methods of ghost detection, the challenge is on to see who can debunk the most ghosts! Scooby, Shaggy and the gang will travel cross-country visiting spooky locations and unmasking classic ghosts. Are their “old-fashioned” methods up to the challenge? MY VIEW: When I saw this, I hoped it wasn’t actually a game, but a game it is. Amazingly, the graphics are pretty good, but its probably better on a less innovative console as the touch screen isn’t used much. 63% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: The gang from Mystery Inc. are the stars of a hit reality TV show about ghost hunting. Average Rating: 63% Mega Man ZX DS 17/11/06 A new series of adventures in the Mega Man franchise, Mega Man ZX features two playable characters -- a male name Van and a female named Eile -- who can expand their Hunter armor from normal to X mode and Z mode by collecting "Live Metal" as well as call upon special powers. MY VIEW: This looks like a pretty good extension to the Mega Man series. Nice graphics and some new gameplay features make this pretty good, but I couldn’t find any touch screen details… 74% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: N/A Average Rating: 74%
The Sims 2: Pets GBA 17/11/06 For the first time ever, players can create pets for their Sims to love, train, play with and take to the park. MY VIEW: The graphics and gameplay can in no way compare to the DS and GC versions, but this is still a pretty solid game. The graphics are good for the GBA, and will be essential for GBA Sims fans. 56% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: The addition of a new friend is guaranteed to enrich the daily lives of your Sims! Not only will players have the opportunity to choose from a variety of existing breeds, and hot designer mixes, but they'll also be able to personally design their new friend with the Create-a-Pet feature. The ability to customise gives fans the opportunity to create their ideal pet by choosing their body shape, unique markings, even their pet's personalities! With so many different animals to choose from, there's no telling what unpredictable experiences could occur! Players will also be able to teach their pet new tricks, take them for a romp in the park, outfit them with new pet accessories and even give them a job! As in real life, your Sims' pet will require care and training. A neglected cat with an urge to scratch might claw up your new couch if you aren't careful, and leaving your dog unattended near a freshly planted flower bed probably isn't wise! Average Rating: 56%
Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam GBA 17/11/06 Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam delivers a totally unique skateboard experience focused on head-to-head racing. The game allows players to feel the breakneck speed of downhill competition as they tear up the world's steepest terrains while performing tricks and outmaneuvering opponents in such locations as San Francisco, Machu Picchu and Hong Kong. Taking on the role of Tony Hawk or one of nine characters, players compete in time-based challenges in one of three gameplay modes, including race, trick and slalom. MY VIEW: To be honest, you may as well wait for the Wii game, but if you really want a skating game for your portable, then buy the DS version. The graphics ok, but quite plain as they are GBA graphics. 52% Nintendo: The Official Magazine: N/A Nintendo of Europe: N/A GAME: This year's hottest Wii game is also this year's breakthrough handheld game! Grab your deck and drop into the extreme speed of downhill racing in Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. Enter this high-speed competition down the steepest streets in the world including epic locations specific to the handheld versions like Kilimanjaro and Hoover Dam travelling the globe and competing with Tony Hawk. It's the wildest ride with Tony yet! Average Rating: 52%
